A Guide to Being a Lolita on a Budget

Here it is!  Finally, after far too long, the second part to Everyday Elegance!  At first, I had to put this aside to focus on finishing graduate school, and then I had to get settled into a routine for working on my novel, so this thing kept getting put on hold― but it’s finally done now!  So, my apologies to everyone who was waiting for this.  But let’s get down to business.

Cute finds at FXXI

This is just a quick (and, frankly, random) post.

I thought that it would be an interesting experiment to go through Forever XXI’s site on a whim and put together a collection of cute dresses— specifically, cute dresses that I felt would work for dolly kei, mori girl, otome, and other vintage-inspired looks.

Take a look at all I found:

One day, that black and gold shift dress will be mine O_O <3  But I have that floral-on-black dress in the middle ^  It’s amazing.

Part of the reason I did this is because I often have people ask me where I buy my clothes, and they’re always surprised to learn that the majority of my dresses are from FXXI.  I guess a lot of people these days view FXXI as too mainstream to carry old-fashioned type things?  Well, the vintage look never really goes out of fashion.  Finding cute dresses when you go into the actual store can be a pain, but if you go to their website, you’ll see that they have a lot of great romantic, vintage-inspired pieces.  Also, I wanted to show that ModCloth isn’t the only place where you can pick up cute dresses.  ModCloth is amazing, though.
